attorney client communication

To make our work together easier and more effective...

Dear Client,

I believe that communicating effectively will be very helpful to our working together and achieving the best result in your case. I find that following a few simple guidelines is very helpful:

1. Please e-mail me if you have any questions or concerns or additional information about your case. I am much more responsive by e-mail than by phone. Besides, a written information will be stored in my computer an I can use it later in the case.
If you have an urgent matter to discuss, please call me on my cellphone at (415) 640-6765. Generally, there are hardly ever any emergencies in civil cases, except those times when we are supposed to meet and one of us can't make it or is being late.

2. If I send you an e-mail message, or if I e-mail you a document, please confirm that you have received it, so that I know that you did. A simple "thanks" or "got it" will do. I will do the same.

3. If you send a fax, please send an e-mail advising me that I should expect a fax. I will confirm by e-mail when I receive your fax.

4. If you plan to be out of town or otherwise unavailable by phone or e-mail for several days or longer, please let me know.

5. Since, most of my work is done on contingency, I am as interested in moving your case forward as you are or even more. Thus, you don't have to check on the status of your case, and if I have any news, you will be the first one to know.

6. If something troubles you about your case or about our working together, please do not hesitate to share with me. I want you to feel comfortable with your representation and with the process.

Thank you, and I look forward to working with you and representing you.

Sincerely,
