Police Brutality Cases in Sacramento, California 03/20/2010

I have a lot of respect for the police forces as they see the worst in our society, and put their lives at risk every day trying to protect the public from crime and keeping us all safe. However, there is no excuse for police brutality and use of excessive and unnecessary force.

My associate and a friend, Jeff Kravitz, of the Kravitz Law Office is handling one such case that recently made the news in Sacramento, California. The video speaks for itself.

Subj: Amador County Fair Sheriff Brutality info on Mario Manzini

My booking agent Fred Clouser suggested that I get in touch with you to either handle my case or hopefully suggest an attorney that could.

I'm a professional entertainer. Mario Manzini. Legal name Dennis Migliore. I'm "Guinness World Champion Escapologist". I've appeared on many major TV shows & specials over the years as well as performed at many of the top entertainment spots in most parts of the world.

My web site is" www.MarioManziniEntertainment.com. My show videos are on YouTube.com. Type in Mario Manzini. I do other shows also but my main show is "A Tribute To Houdini". Escape Artist.

I was also booked to do 5 County Fairs and a college from July 25th starting at the Howard County Fair in Saint Paul, Nebraska which we already did through the Cottonwood County Fair in Windom, Minnesota on Sept 20 & 21st. many more to follow.

This is what happened to me. I was the featured act at the Amador County fair for 4 days starting on July 29, 2010. I was jumped on & beat up by 4 deputy sheriffs of the Amador County Sheriffs Dept in Plymouth, California right after my stage show at the Amador County Fair on Thursday, July 30, 2010 in front of over 1,000 people who just saw my stage show. Adults & children, families. I did notice that some people were videoing this but I couldn't talk to them.

I was in my car parked next to the stage when I was surrounded by several Deputy Sheriffs with their guns pointed at my head. They screamed at me to shut off my car and stick my hands outside the window which I did. I didn't know what was going on. They closed in on me around my car and dragged me out of my car and threw me face down onto the ground and 2 deputies stepped me with all of their weight. One on the back on my neck and back of my head and the other stepped with all his weight on my back to push me down into the ground as they handcuffed me so tight that I screamed in pain.

I couldn't breath as they closed off my wind pipe. I felt like I was going to get a heart attack and die. I was 68 years old. I tried to wiggle free and they began beating me and kicking me about my body. I was screaming & crying in pain. I kept telling them that I couldn't breath and they were breaking my wrists, but they kicked me more.

They then stood me up.One deputy saw that I was wearing a hair piece and he pulled my hair piece off my head in front of all the public that was watching and threw it on the ground. They all laughed at me and humiliated me. I kept asking him what was wrong and why they were doing this to me and the other deputy punched me in my face right below my right eye opening it up and I was bleeding heavy. I passed out for some time.

I came too and they had dragged me behind the stage and went through my pockets & my wallet. I asked them to please lock my car & close the windows as I had over $ 5,000 in cash from my shows in the glove compartment. A deputy hit me in my face again and told me to shut up. I had a $ 400 Stetson hat on and they pulled it off my head and threw it also on the ground. They stumped on it and ruined it. They placed the keys from my car on top of the car keeping the window open all the way & the doors unlocked.

They asked me all kinds of questions which I answered put 2 deputies kept telling me that I was lying and they read me my rights. They said that they were arresting me and taking me to jail. But they wouldn't tell me why they were doing this to me.

To make a long story short. after about 2 hours, the sgt who was present the entire time Sgt John Stover, came over to me and told me that they were releasing me. They unlocked the handcuffs. I was covered with blood from my face, wrists and had bruises on my body. I couldn't even stand up.

The one deputy who punched me in the face, etc came over and pushed my hair piece on my head side ways and laughed at me and also said that I was lucky that they were letting me go.

Then they all became so nice to me helping me to get in my car and helping me to back up and drive away. I asked the Sgt why this happened and he told me that some one at the fair called 911 and told them my name, car & license plate # and that I was crazey and had a loaded gun in my car and was going to shoot & kill alot of people at the fair???

I don't have a gun. They asked me that before and searched my car not finding anything. Then he said they realized that there was a mistake and they were letting me go.

I was allowed to drive out of the fair. I found the nearest emergency room at a near by hospital and went there. They treated me at the hospital and told me that I should file a complaint with the Amador County Sheriffs dept.

I was released hours later. I called the sheriffs dept and had a very long talk with a deputy on the phone. I told me that I wanted to file a complaint with them and he kept trying to talk me out of it.
